Ahh, Celine. You're so classy. And so expensive. I love you. My bank account...does not.

I already own two canvas bags from Celine and I absolutely love them both. The canvas is so thick and feels incredibly luxurious. It has that rustic feel, in the best way possible. But of course, the price tag makes my heart skip a beat, and especially considering that most people view canvas as a less valuable and worthy material.

Enter, Mango. The past couple of years, they have never failed to knock it out of the park when it comes to designer inspired handbags. I have a couple from last year, and dare I say this season seems to be even better?!

THE SPLURGE

The Celine Triomphe bag in textile and natural calfskin is retailing for an eye-watering $3100 (for the small!). It seems to be the same material composition as my other two bags, so I am absolutely sold on that front, and the color doesn’t get more spring and summer appropriate than this. But I just bought a house and that price tag just laughed at me, so I need a dupe.

THE DUPE

Also known as the option your bank consultant won’t give you major side eye for purchasing. This cute bag retails for less than 2% (!!) of the Celine, and will 100% give you the look. It is, of course, not made with the same high quality materials, this bag has no leather in it, and the canvas is a cotton / polyester blend. But if an inexpensive dupe is what you’re after, this is it! I love the strap as well, it’s really wide with a buckle to adjust it. Click the image and take a closer look if you want.

VALUE FOR MONEY

I am undeniably a designer handbag obsessive. I have been since I was 15 and saw a Valentino handbag for the first time. I am absolutely above-average appreciative of the incredible attention to detail; every stitch is perfect and it can be simply a work of art. Yet, I will admit – every single day – that they are overpriced status items that can therefore add a shocking amount of zeros after that dollar sign. I genuinely believe that if you’re after the most quality squeezed into your buck, mid-range contemporary designers like Tory Burch or Guess are better purchases (although resale value is nothing to write home about). And if you’re simply after the look (without necessarily having years worth of longevity), Mango has you covered!
