Alright my lovelies, it’s that time of year. You know, where you put on clothing that makes you look nothing short of a bear woken up mid hibernation. At least I do.

But I love fashion, and I am also a bit of a stubborn donkey when I first put my mind to something. So with a love for everything style and fashion, combined with only an acceptable dose of stubborn vanity, I have over the years come up with a fair amount of knowledge on the topic of dressing for below zero temperatures.

Some of my best styling hacks for winter:

TIP 1: Wool thermal underwear. This is a must! Get a tight pair of leggings (definitely don’t size up), so you can use them under your jeans and leggings.

TIP 2: Layers. Layer as much as you can. Leggings under longer skirts and don’t forget that over the knee boots can function as a second layer s well!

TIP 3: Wool shoe inserts – a muuuust for your winter boots.

TIP 4: Speaking of shoes, definitely keep a separate pair of boots at work, so you can wear your oversized chunky ones on the way to work, but still look human once you get to the office.

TIP 5: Layer coats and jackets! My favorite is to layer a blazer or even a leather jacket under my winter coat, that way I can still use all my nice clothing but it’s twice as warm! Bonus points if you manage to put a faux fur vest on top of that 😄

TIP 6: Belt your outerwear. Seriously. Get your gorgeous leather belts which nobody can see anyways underneath your 18 sweaters, and you put them where everyone can see them: over your wool coat. It gives your coat (and you) a shape you didn’t know you had AND it makes the whole outfit so much cuter.
