As a general rule, I tend to buy, wear and drool over neutrals. All year. Maybe a pop of red. But this year I have discovered a new side of my self: I love sage green. And I have a feeling you will too..

Sage green has been popping up more and more recently. Last spring saw a lot of pistachio green pushed as one of the it-colors of the season. Now every high street store is filled with this sage green shade and my heart could not be happier.

The Faux Neutral?

I have concluded that this is the most perfect way to add color for people who, like me, prefers a neutral outfit. First of all, nothing about this color is loud or in your face. It is so soft, it goes with almost everything and for all intents and purposes, this feels like a neutral to me. It is the neutral of colors. I would style this very much the same way I would a beige.

It is the perfect alternative for those of us who tend to look sickly when wearing pastels. I certainly do. But this is so muted and a bit warmer, making it perfect for spring and summer. I love styling it with white or beige, or even softening up black pieces to make them more appropriate for the season.

The Two-Piece

I have lost count of how many items I have added to my wardrobe in this hue, it seems to go with everything. But my favorite add, by far, is this gorgeous tencel suit from Mango. This color works so well in a two-piece. I was lucky and got it at 20% off, but I would have paid full price for it, it’s just so good!

I got the blazer in a size US 4 / EU 34 / UK6, and the trousers in a size US 6 / EU 36 / UK 8. The blazer is beautifully oversized, and the trousers have an elastic waist in the back (super comfortable!). But please keep in mind that the trousers are not particularly roomy in the hips.
