I’m going to start this review with a spoiler: I love this product.
I am picky when it comes to highlighters, they have to mix well with other base products, be easy to use, have longevity, be the right shade and most importantly of all: they have to be smooth and beautiful and look like my skin. If I see any of that chunky, sparkly highlight that belongs on an 8 year old girl in a My Little Pony fever dream – I’m out. Be glitter or be glowy.
This Dior Face & Body Glow product, thankfully, has not given me any such grief. It is a beautifully smooth glow, with just a hint of metallic sheen. It is just on the edge of being too bronze for my complexion (a fair, fair olive tone), but ends up just giving me that summer glow.
This product is so easy to mix into other foundations, moisturizers and what have you. My only complaint is that I wish it came in a much larger bottle. This is 50ml. A generous size for a face product, but if you’re using this on the body you will run out quickly. Partly because it’s the perfect consistency for the face: it’s fairly thin but not so runny that you can’t tap it in over your foundation. For the body? It’s not near fluid enough, it’s needs to be a lot more spreadable.
How to use this product
I have tried lots of different ways of using this product and I love most of them! Under foundation, mixed in with foundation, patted on cheek bones over my foundation? All great options, even all at once. It’s beautiful used just on it’s own as well, but I would avoid using it around the mouth, next to the nose and all over the forehead if you’re not using anything over it to tone it down. Just be a bit more strategic with the placement.
I actually prefer a brush to apply this because it’s a lot less messy and you won’t get it all over your hands, because… This stuff lasts!
I have used this on my body, and it does not transfer (unless I layer it a lot!), and it lasts so long. I have to actually put effort into removing it in the shower. I think this product would be amazing for a special event where you want to look extra glowy and fresh. It layers on top of my tan so well *chef’s kiss*. And for photoshoots, of course. However, due to the size and that I still use a brush to apply this to the body (time consuming), I just stick with using this on the face.
Check out the video below of the product – you really have to see it “move” to understand how pretty it is!
I did a video review of this product as well, you can watch it below to see how it performs, application and so on. The demo on the body starts at around the 7:52 mark.
