I have to say, finding a dupe for this particular shape was not the easiest. But I scoured the internet for you, my fellow fashion addicts, and I came up with more alternatives than I thought I would. Enjoy, mon cheries!
Update: I have since writing this post come across so many more dupes for this great little bag! So I decided to include those as well, as some of the older ones sadly have sold out. Enjoy the gallery of a ton of dupes below, images are clickable. Happy dupe shopping!
First off, this is the bag we want to find a dupe for. Essential to the “re-edition” of the Prada nylon bag is the shape at the top of the bag. It has a slight half moon shape at the top, making the zipper a bit bent. The older model has a completely straight top zipper, and is much more like the classic 90s baguette bag. I like them both, but prefer this modern version a lot!
The dupes
Some of the dupes are very close, and some are more of their own thing. I can highly recommend adding a chain strap to these (or even a nylon strap!) to get even more of that Prada look or just for practical reasons. Scroll down to see all the 11 dupes!
How adorable is this bag?! I got the mini version of this in the hot pink, otherwise I would already have this one already. Now I’m trying to evaluate whether I can justify getting them both. It’s so cute and I love the mock croc faux leather. The shape of this is a perfect dupe.
If you want that really minimalist vibe, look no further. & Other Stories has a beautiful, clean and no fuss nylon shoulder bag with an adjustable strap. If you want to change up the look, you can always pop on a chain strap that can hang on the front of the bag and get even more of that Prada look.
While it can’t be argued that this is an inexpensive alternative, it is really high quality. Coach has been stepping up their game a lot and releasing so many cute handbag styles. This is no exception. It comes in whopping 9 colors, including white, black, tan and a deep red. So beautiful. It is made with real leather,
This super affordable alternative from Topshop is definitely on the softer side, but I love that it has the wide, knot handle. It makes the bag a bit more unique, while still being on trend. And, it comes in burgundy as well!
I’ll admit lime green may not be a color you have seen me rock that often. Or ever. But it is really trendy, and if you are one of those people who loves their pops of color I would look into this bag. I adore the shape of it, it has that classic Prada shape at the top, but it will fit a bit more. And the mock croc really makes this look classy, even in a neon color. If you’re even braver, it’s also in a leopard print, click here to see that one.
Another minimal alternative, this Weekday one is affordable and about as minimal as they come. You have the beautiful half moon shaped zipper closure and a wide shoulder strap. You can’t go wrong if you want a minimal take on this bag trend!
I mentioned earlier that I had the smaller version of the beige Mango bag, and this is it! I love having a smaller hot pink accessory, but it also comes in a super cute baby blue. I can just about fit my phone in this one (length wise), a card holder, a few keys and a lip balm. It also comes with a chain that I have never used. But it’s great for crossbody, can highly recommend it if you want a mini bag in this style!
This bag scores really high; it’s incredibly affordable, it has the shape nailed down, it has two straps that both are detachable. Can’t see any fault with this one, really!
Normally I’d say £80 is too expensive for a faux leather bag, but this one is on sale now, 50% off, so I say hurry! I lovelovelove the shape of this one. You can add a chain strap if you want it cross body. I think the quilted faux leather makes it a bit more different than a standard dupe. ‘
Okay, one more from French Connection. This is essentially the same bag (it’s also 50% off!), but with a mock croc finish. If you want an edgier bag than the cream colored one above, I would definitely take a look at this one.
I decided to include this LTL London bag as well because I had some of you on Instagram asking for that “as close to the real deal as possible” dupe. This is very, very close. No logo, of course, but the shape and the strap and the chain is all very much duped. I have not ordered from LTL London myself yet, but I have friends who have been satisfied. Let me know if you have experience ordering with them!
